The legal bits
How far ahead do we need to do the legal paperwork?
Your Notice of Intended Marriage (NOIM) needs to be with me at least one month, and up to 18 months, before your wedding. The earlier the better. I'll guide you through it at our first meeting.
What documents do we need?
Your original birth certificate or passport, plus photo ID. If either of you has been married before, you'll also need the divorce certificate or death certificate. I take care of all the forms.
Do we need witnesses?
Yes, two witnesses who are 18 or over. They sign the paperwork with you on the day, so pick two people you love.
Are there words we have to say?
A few. I say a short legal statement, and your vows need to include some required words. Everything else is completely up to you.
Can we get married outside Canberra?
Yes. Celebrants are authorised Australia-wide, so I can marry you anywhere in the country. I lodge your paperwork with the right Births, Deaths and Marriages office within 14 days of your wedding.
Booking & pricing
How much do your services cost?
Ceremony Perfection is $2,000, MC is $700 and On-the-Day Coordination is $1,400. Ceremony & Co (ceremony, MC and coordination with Cath and Lauren) is quoted on enquiry.
Do you travel?
I'm based in Canberra and the NSW Sapphire Coast is part of my home turf. For weddings more than 50 km outside Canberra (excluding the Sapphire Coast), travel fees apply and I'll include them in your quote.
Can we meet before we book?
Absolutely. Let's meet for a coffee or jump on a video call, so you can get a feel for how I work.
Your ceremony
Can we write our own vows?
Yes, and I'd love to help. I can share prompts, read drafts or help you polish them so they sound exactly like you.
Can family and friends be involved?
Of course. Readings, ring warming, a family welcome, a pet ring bearer: if it matters to you, we'll find a place for it.
Do you provide a sound system?
Yes. A professional PA system and microphone are included, so every guest hears every word.
How personalised is the ceremony?
Completely. There's no template. I get to know your story through our planning sessions and write your ceremony word by word.
On the day
When do you arrive?
Early. I check in with your venue and vendors and make sure everything is set before your guests arrive.
What's the difference between your packages and Ceremony & Co?
My packages let you choose exactly what you need: ceremony, MC or coordination. Ceremony & Co is the all-in-one option, where Cath and Lauren handle your whole day together, from first planning session to last dance.
Why hire a professional MC?
Your friends and family are there to celebrate you, not to work. A professional MC keeps the night flowing, handles the formalities and is the main contact for your vendors.
